Medical Problems Now Tied to Essure®
The manufacturer (Bayer Corp.) has been under intense scrutiny for the various medical problems that Essure® can cause. Such problems include device migration, perforation, pelvic pain, autoimmune diseases and allergic reaction to the nickel in the device, among other problems. In addition, many women have had the Essure® device surgically removed from their body. The surgical procedure often involves a hysterectomy.
The FDA recently imposed strict restrictions on Bayer for the continued sale and distribution of the Essure device. As a result of these restrictions and declining sales, Bayer recently announced it would no longer sell the device after December 31, 2018.
You should know that our firm is focused on the liability of the manufacturer of Essure® and its failure to properly investigate and warn of all the medical risks that the device poses. We are not suing the doctors.
